WTS: Vintage Waterman Skywriter with 14K nib, Lever Filler
Spent a lazy Saturday haunting Ebay and won an auction for a Waterman Skywriter.
The body is in decent condition with the exception of the clip which is missing. It looks kind of plain unless you are under light and then it really shines. Reminds me of the mineral tiger eye.
The nib is marked 14KT and has an "R" below that, all contained in a diamond outline.
I was pleased with how it wrote just dipping the nib but it will need a new sac (it sounds like a maraca at present if you gently shake the pen, I have not attempted to mess with the lever mechanism). One tine on the nib is also a bit lower than the other. I believe it could be straightened by someone who has had more practice then I do, I didn't find it too distracting when I did the dip test.
Price is $14 including shipping in the continental US. Not trying to flip for profit, just recouping some of what I put into it. I'd like to see it go to someone who has a chance of repairing it, I don't have the tools or materials and it doesn't fit my hand well enough to motivate me to pay for a professional restoration.'
