So, I promised a specific pen review this week (Centropen 100820). I went to edit it. My face looks pretty good with the sun shining on it. The pen looks amazing, of course. The writing sample went well and even showed wonderfully that the pen can't do reverse writing and the line variation of the fantastic nib.

Trouble is, it turns out the battery was dead in my microphone. I had recorded 2 more reviews in addition to the Centropen. Grr! Just a background hiss, no dialogue.

So, tomorrow or Tuesday I need to get home from work early enough to get decent light. Hopefully I can refilm the "me talking" part and recycle the writing sample footage.

So, why didn't I verify that the microphone was working? No reason. I just assumed. What I should have done was a test run first and then filmed the real thing. Why don't I do that to make sure the equipment works?

Also, on this line, in the long run, I would like to be able to photograph pens and film myself with dependable light. I need to think about how to build that, probably in the basement. Then I could film at my convenience.

I don't know if I can hold my hand through my original post, but thank-you for watching. I started doing fountain pen videos in 2014, and it's still a surprise and honor that people watch my videos. It looks like I was posting about one of my really bad video disasters, but I wish I had made more sense.
