Getting closer. Looks to be writing a touch wetter, but still getting hard starts.

have you adjusted the relative position of the nib and feed as I suggested (tried making the fit just a tad looser)?

I think your hard starts are from machine oil. You are going to have to check the nib alignment, and keep adjusting feed and nib until you fine a happy place for pen and ink.

Yes tried changing the relation between the nib and feed. Still hard starts...

I've cleaned multiple times in my previous posts as well as suggested By others in this thread. I've probably cleaned this pen at least 6-7 times in the last 3 weeks. Anything else you recommend as far as cleaning?

Maybe I missed where you cleaned with something other than water or distilled water. Water is not going to take the oil out. You can try a good dishwashing liquid such as Joy, Ajax...whatever. If you have a pen flush, use it. If you don't, make your own. I also mentioned flossing the nib. (brass sheet) http://www.richardspens.com/pdf/workshop_notes.pdf
You can look on the pdf file for nib alignment help.

No worries. Yes I followed the recommended pen flush solution in an earlier post. I'll continue to forge ahead with adjusting more and playing with the nib / feed.

Sounds good. Now pay particular attention to the way you check to see if your nib is aligned. There is a picture in the pdf file I posted. That should help you tremendously.

Just an update. After another disassembly, adjustment (including a slight modification to the feed), and another clean all seems to be well now. Thanks everyone for your assistance.

Glad to hear it. Persistence pays off. Hopefully this is the beginning of a very positive writing experience

I love my Ahab it is a great affordable introduction to a flex nib and is versatile. However it does require a bit of tinkering and adjustment sometimes. Some folk love this others hate it.

I like tinkering. I would love to one day be versed enough to grind an Au or Pd nib... But I'll settle for adjusting the feed and nib on the Ahab for now.
