Apparently they started in Washington DC, but business was too slow.

    Hahahaha!
There's a lane in Melbourne covered in great murals/graffiti.

    Hello,

Is there a more famous 'unknown' street artist than Banksy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy

Passed by this place just last week. Sadly the mural was gone and the building will now host a charter school.

    Batten down. Here comes Bret.

The fact that murals often have a limited lifespan is part of their character and significance for me. They capture a thought or moment that can be ephemeral.

    Hello,

There was a television programme yesterday that visited Peurto Rico. The host of the show is a very well known (well, in the UK he is) actor, Martin Clunes, who visits different parts of the world. Yesterdays episode, as said, was Peurto Rico, and the US Territory has wall art on every little piece of wall. Amazing. Not graffiti the likes seen on motorway bridges or train track walls, but art that if it were done on canvas would undoubtely sell for thousands. I thought of this thread at the time.

Mural entitled “Electric-City” by London-based street artist Dan Kitchener (DANK). The mural is on the side of a building in Eureka, California, and was done entirely freehand in spray paint in 2017. I took the photo with an iPhone SE in September, 2023. The scene was inspired by the Shinjuki district of Tokyo, Japan. Eureka has quite a few murals, and new ones going up all the time.

This moral depicting a "coquí" (a species of very small frog native to Puerto Rico) is also near our state university:
