    Default Question About A Vac

Hey guys. I just purchased this Vac and really love it. I just wanted some information about it and hoped you Parker aficionados could help. The date code is .2. So I'm assuming it's 1932 or 1942. The nib appears to be gold when you hold it at a distance but silver colored under light. I'm sorry I couldn't get a clearer pic of the nib but as you can see it has the Parker arrow and Parker USA at the bottom. There's no gold markings so I'm guessing it's a steel nib. The arrow clip simply has Parker on it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no Vac expert by any means but am familiar with the basic models. Based on the photo it appears you have a 1942 Vac Junior with a proper monotone 14k nib (Parker didn't mark these 14k). Nice catch!

If it was a 1932 it would have a steel plunger or lock down plunger vs. the plastic plunger under the blind cap.......In my opinion.......

If it were 1932 it wouldn't be a Vacumatic.

I have a brown Vac Junior like that one, 1945. Nice pen. Doesn't dry out. I put one of the brass filler units in it. Makes it look classy.

I have the same one but it's 1947. I need to send it out to get a new diaphragm.

The brass filler cost about $20 or so from Jaxxon. I don't know if he still does them. I also have a nickel finish filler on a 51.

1942-1948 (in USA) Vacumatic Junior, a 3rd Generation Vac. Standard size. A good entry-to-series pen. Here's a clean shot of a clean pen in Silver Pearl Celluloid, with scarce flex nib. This one is bit earlier, 2nd generation, thus "double jewel"
