This is for any long-term Kaweco Sport users out there: has the imprint paint flaked off the cap? I'm trying to gauge how easy it is to remove.

No, not on mine - I have several and have used them for years. Should be noted I carry all my pens in a case.

None of my imprints have flaked at all. I never notice them though.

Hmm, thanks for the info! If either of you have caps with the gold imprints, is it muted in real life, or is it very shiny and blingy?

I don't find it blingy. The writing is shiny, but it isn't very large - it doesn't occupy too much space on the cap.

The gold lettering and the cursive style compliment the retro look of the pen very nicely.

Oh, the plastic ones, I'm particularly interested in the Guilloche.
I did find a review by the Well Appointed Desk with photos of really quite worn imprints, so that gives me hope!

OK so a black Guilloche is similar to the black Chess that I have. I checked my existing pics and I don't have one that's very good but here is the one I have that shows the Kaweco Sport writing on the cap. I've reviewed this pen on here and on FPN.

I have 2 Kaweco Sports. 1 is blue plastic and the other is blue stonewashed aluminum. I prefer the looks & feel of the stonewashed. In neither case is the imprint gaudy or flaking. The font size is appropriate for the pen and the print (is it embossing? Stamping? Spray paint?) is good quality.
When I first saw the Stonewashed, I thought it wouldn't be 'my type of pen' because it looked worn, (and deliberately so). But, for that reason it seems to be my go to pen, always inked, and I don't worry about leaving it knocking around on my desk. I also take it to the US on holiday with me. It's almost become my most used pen. I've become quite attached to it. I'm usually quite careful with my pens, but with the Stonewashed, there is no need to worry. It looks invincible.
I have several Sports, no flaking or fading. The oldest one is at least from 2011, IIRC. Looking at this photo though, it would seem that two have some fading. It's a lighting issue. The Art Sport at the bottom is engraved and never had any gold in the lettering.

Thanks everyone. I've taken the plunge and put in my Cultpens order.

Sorry these aren't all rotated to show the lettering, but the top two are 112's from the late 30's-early 40's and the bottom one is from the early to mid 70's. The gold lettering holds up well.
Okay, now you're just showing off! Nice collection!

Heh heh...
Seriously though, here are some of my favorites:
50's Kaweco Sport 11 in original box (I have the leather sleeve too, not pictured).
This is a 712, a model I had never heard of. I think it was a GI souvenir from the war, but apparently uninked. The window is perfect, but the cork had dried out (look how clean it is). The celluloid fitting for the cork had disintegrated as well.
Here's a mix of old an new. Can you tell which is which?
The 883 limited edition Kaweco had Visconti produce is another favorite.

Is that Visconti Kaweco larger than a standard modern Sport?
The nib is a little longer, although it's still a Bock #5. The body and cap are essentially the same size as a modern Sport. Any difference is in the end of the barrel, as it has a blind cap and piston knob; where the modern Sport doesn't. The Visconti is more similar to a 12G in that regard.
