    Default A few JinHao pens

    Hi guys.

As promised, here's a few photos of my new JinHao pens.
I got them in the mail today, and I was totally chuffed when I opened the envelope and saw the little sweeties.

    The JinHao 500's:

All four pens came with converters.

The nibs compared. Left: 500. Right: X450, and a writing sample of the X450.
As you can see, the finish on the nibs isn't the most accurate, nor the best quality. But hey - at 5-6 euro per pen, what do you expect? *wink*
I inked up the X450, it is a fairly wet writer, I like the feeling of the pen.
There's no problems with ink flow or skipping, it's nice for a low-priced fp.

The 450 was one of my first nib grinding practice pens! The 500 looks very Pelikan. Nice.

Nice photos, the red, black & gold x450 looks very sophisticated gives it a Rather different look to my blue & white marble one. The 500 looks pretty good too.

I like JinHao pens. Not for myself but for the kids in my family. They are generally inexpensive enough that you can give them to kids for school pens. They are super nice looking and they are strong. They make far better school pens than the drugstore and supermarket ones. The ones they sell in drugstores and supermarkets may be cheap, but they break easily and need to be replaced frequently and they have no where near the same nice writing experience.

How great that you can still use the tearm school pen where you are at Cornet. Here in Ssan AntonioTX the Judson school district prohibits fountain pen use in the schools, they donot even teach children cursive in grade school. It's sad that they will not care if they use a pen or pencil to do school work. They prefer that children do their work on a pc and print it out or to take it in on a usb drive. I cry about the lack of pride schools here place on handwritting. Yet government wonders why US students a falling behind.

I agree, I saw a study recently where they prove the relationship between penmenship and reading and math skills - Cursive handwritting should be taught in school - it is lazy not to.

    Just MHO on the topic.
