    Default Experience with www.petespenshop.com ?

    Hello,

Has anyone ever purchased a pen from Petespenshop?

I had never heard of this person/website before, but found some nice vintage Parkers.

I would be interested in hearing your feedback.

    Thank you

Hi there. Petespenshop is owned by Pete Kirby. He is one of the "authorities" in vintage Parker collections and is a formidable collector, and pen restorer himself.
To fully appreciate his collection, you can see him in person at some Pen Shows (LA, Chicago, DC, Dallas <-- this is his "home" Pen Show, Ohio).

So don't hesitate to contact him directly via phone or email.

The only thing that stand between me and some of his pens for sale is ... an almost empty wallet

And a general good guy. His descriptions will almost always undervalue a pen.

I have a story about Pete and his Conklin collection.

Last year I was at his house helping out to prepare for the Dallas Pen Show.
I was in the middle of running through the list of vendors to make sure we don't miss or overbook anyone, when -- just out of curiosity -- I asked him about a particular vendor name.

    Me: "So, what's his specialty?"

Pete: "Oh, he's a Conklin guy, a good friend"

Me: "He has more Conklins than you?" (I pointed to a nearby table full of collectible Conklins <-- including a handful of oversized Conklin Nozac Herringbone in immaculate condition restored by Pete himself).

Pete: "No, but I'll bring less than he does for the show"

    Me: "Uh, why?"

    Pete: "He's a good friend"

He didn't say anything else, but I knew that Pete didn't want to make that Conklin guy looks bad.
A classy gentleman, Mr. Pete Kirby is.
