Default Ephemera found at an antique store

I've purchased more NOS "Field Notes" sized bank register books. Some are leather bound. I will be replacing the paper in them and then rebind the original register paper. Two of the postcards are some post WWI photos that I found a bit odd to be used as postcards. I found the cash receipt interesting and will probably get added to a junk journal of sorts.

I wonder if the HPLHS would be interested in any of this.

    What a neat find! Congrats!
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

    That's a good find.

Why do you think the postcards are a bit odd to be used as postcards?

Thanks, Chrissy. I'm not sure but how would you like to send/receive a postcard depicting the aftermath of war? Those postcards are depicting blown out windows in buildings from the Battle of Verdun and the general destruction of war. Good photos for a history book, newspaper or magazine but a postcard? What would you write? "Hi, just sending you a photo of the war I'm experiencing. Wish you were here!" Obviously, after thinking about it, I am missing some context. The postcards seem to be made in France and could possibly be from a museum which would make it a bit more understandable. It just hit me as odd when I first saw them.

I've a postcard featuring a wounded VietCong convalescing in his hammock & perusing a copy of "Giai Phong," and another postcard depicting the destruction of Cu Chi province.

It is fun. I literally spent over 2 hours just sifting through piles of postcards and old documents.

I think that previous generations had a more straightforward attitude. They might well have wanted to say- "This is how awful it was" (and Verdun was known to the French Army as the meat grinder) rather than "Look at this pretty view"
Some days, it's hardly worth chewing through the leather straps....
