There are actually two possibilities. One is a 1:1 mix of Diamine Emerald and Diamine Graphite. The other is Noodler' s El Lawrence.

The Noodler' s is almost completely waterproof, and it shades the same way RG does. It has the tiniest hint more gray, but you have to compare swatches side by side in direct, natural light. It is almost completely waterproof.

The Diamine mix is a dead on match for color but doesn't shade quite as well. It still shades some, though. When put to the water test, it is still readable but loses some of the gray component.

Next comes the performance test in daily use. I have the Noodler' s loaded into a pen and will be using it extensively for the next couple of days. Then I'll let it set to see if it dries out.

    1) Finally smoothed out most of the tooth on my needlepoint Sheaffer Admiral. 3 hours of glass-smoothing later...Whatever they used for tipping material on those Feathertouch 5 nibs, it's insanely tough stuff.
    2) Turned in senior paper.
    3) 19 days of school/senior year left. Someone hand me a 20mm nib pen, some Baystate blue, and a big posterboard.
Currently obsessed with: Parker 51s and Sheaffer Targas.
