Left the house!

Survived leaving the house.

Bought paints.

1. Survived the most intense and hostile town meeting on a commercial property I'm fighting.
2. I'm honored to be the biggest pain in the ass to the developer.
3. Came home from the meeting to two pen pal letters....the best feeling....thanks silverbreeze.

It's Friday evening and I'm still on holidays, so it's easy to find "good things":

1. My, recently graduated, daughter found a house to rent (she's sharing with 2 friends) only 10 mins from our house, we are all very excited.

2. Went for a lovely drive over the Southern Alps in 26C summer sun.

3. Returned home and the automatic garage door went ballistic - up and down due to cable somehow getting tangled. Now it's stuck open. Why is this good? It isn't! What is good, it that I immediately called the man who installed it 18 months ago. I was lucky because he's going away on holidays for 2 weeks tomorrow morning and he's coming before he leaves to fix it. Phew!

1. The lamb biryani resulting from my latest recipe amendments;
2. The bottle of Spanish Grenacha that washed it down;
3. The company of my wonderful partner (migo984).

1. Cautiously optimistic about returning to normality.

2. Doris' blood tests all clear at the V.E.T.

3. Finished a painting. Tiny, took ages, quite like it!

Slept till 8 AM. A huge feat given two kids with tendency to wake up earlier on Saturday.


The young couple that fostered our dog till we adopted her 2 months ago came to visit. Was pure joy for all involved.

1. Snow shoveled.

2. Bread baked. Wish you could taste it!

1. Survived a whole day back at work!

2. Didn't kill anyone.

3. Mac and cheese ready for me when i got home.

1. Day 2 back at work a success, didn't even shout at anyone. Might have even smiled at a couple of people.

2. Above helped by getting to spend most of the day with my headphones in. Fueled by Elbow, Cat Stevens and Beth Orton.

3. Painting and letter writing and sketching and generally making a mess.

1. Completing a substantial amount of school work

2. Thankful we only had a crop dusting of snow

3. How awesome my VAC 700 is writing after a cleaning last week. It's amazing, amazing......have i already stated how amazing it is? lol

1. Not as much snow as predicted

1. Working from home. Extra hour in bed, logging on whilst still in my PJs whilst hugging a mug of tea, not having to defrost the car, getting to multitask (ie sew, paint, write) whilst working.

2. Spearmint Altoids. I have an addiction.

3. Having returned to at least 85% normality.

1.Child A looks to be over the stomach flu.
2.Child B is feeling a lot better
3. Husband hasn't caught any of either mine or the kids' viruses

1. My once-every-two-years batch of chutney was smelling good but not looking right...stick blender to the rescue!

2. Guacamole came out well, thanks to a perfectly ripe avocado with none of that stringy stuff.

3. My latest obssession: Brown Drip Glaze stoneware. Bought some Pfaltzgraff coffee cups on fleabay. Today, Couldn't find my sunglasses...poked around the garage on the off chance they were hiding there. Found a LIKE NEW BROWN DRIP GLAZE MUG! From McCoy!

So now I have 'the real McCoy,' lol.

Got to work on time.
Backed out of a snow bank - had four wheel drive car.

1. Hair cut! Short and scruffy once again.

2. C made pizza for dinner.

3. Finished knitting the bunny for new neice/nephew. Now on to the hedgehog!

1. Yoga boot camp helped me stretch out my neck and shoulders after the 150 mile motorcycle ride up to Daytona Beach for bike week yesterday - in a 20 mph cross wind.
2. Getting another letter from someone new.
3. Having an ice-cream sandwich for dinner because I am a grown up and I can do that.
