In my defence M'lud, I did have to get up really really early. It was so early that it technically wasn't worth going to bed.

    1. Pretty good job interview.
    2. During the above I was asked to describe my hobbies in English (I live in a non English speaking country, the specific company require pretty fluent English from its employees- that was their way of testing it) so got to talk about fountain pens. After translating into the local language since the interviewer didn't recognize the term
    3. The cleaning lady was in today so the house looks nicer than yesterday :-)

    1. In the middle of arguing about grass transplants, we glanced at the blackberry patch and HEY! RIPE BERRIES! So now I'm all scratched up and itchy but there's a quart in the freezer waiting to become preserves this fall.

    2. Cooked some beans to add to yesterday's zuc before it gets too hot in the kitchen.

    3. Almost time for toast and coffee.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

    1. Took my German shepherd for a swim in an impromptu lake this morning in the park (read sandpit). It's 106F and climbing today in Dubai, so it was lovely to get wet on our morning walk. (An irrigation pipe has burst and filled the underpass with 3 feet of lovely clean cool water). Max and I had a great time. He is now snoozing on the floor of my study off gassing wet dog smell. But I love him, so I don't care. Oh, he has left a trail of wet sandy paw prints everywhere too. Doh!

    2. Freebie number 1. I am unpacking some boxes of odds and ends that have moved several times with us around the world and never been sorted out. I found a box of art supplies I've had since the eighties. In it was a dip pen and about 40 assorted nibs. I had no memory of acquiring these. I did this....

    3. Freebie number 2. My fiancé gave me a Mont Blanc 146?? He found it in his odds and ends box. He's had it for about 15 years and it was new when he was given it as a gift. Lucky for me he only uses rollerballs and fibre tip Mont Blancs now, and says he is "over" FP's. (No man is perfect). Sadly, I inked it and wrote with it, but it's sooooo boring to write with. Stiff nib. Really dull experience. I'm now worried because I have a 149 broad from the early nineties on order that will arrive next week. It was going to be my first foray into MB'S, I really hope I won't be disappointed. His 146 has a medium nib.

So today has turned out great.

I'm not inviting vitriolic comment here, just wanna say this makes me happy:

I am a political junkie, and I enjoy watching the whole Presidential race. Tonight, the Republican debates begin. For me, this is the beginning of the Super Bowl season!

Much more important is that the writ has been dropped, here, this past weekend. I am in for 6 weeks of rollicking political persuasion, starting with an all party leader's debate tonight.

    1) High today of 72F. First day since May that I've gotten to wear one of my beloved cardigan sweaters.

    2) I fixed my favorite umbrella. It rained all day. I got to use my newly-repaired, favorite umbrella.

    3) I made chicken and sausage gumbo. The Princess says it's as good as her (Creole) grandmother's.
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

Crazyorange would enjoy this. The colours of the NDP are orange and the leader is driven around in an orange campaign bus, which you can see coming from miles away. He was in this area today and everything was orange. They wear orange and hand out orange flyers. I think they chose orange because it is not quite red. They even call their campaign "Orange Crush". They have a good chance of winning the election, and if that happens they will probably give free oranges to all the citizens.

    1. We went shopping and I found contraband! Namely, lemonade and DILL relish. Seriously... Why are they hiding these things from me?

    2. Then we were ravenous, so we went to breakfast, a real rarity. We even have enough leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast.

    3. Found a couple of tote bags on sale, which I use for mobile file cases.
