    1. I got to leave work early, which meant I had 4 hours with my wife before she flew home (10 weeks until I get to go back too, but I'm trying to see the positives I today!)

    2. Lunch at Panera Bread. Mmm!

    3. Three Amazon returns parcelled up and ready to go (a GoPro which proved less waterproof than advertised, a battery for the same, and a Lamy nib which had had something very heavy placed on it at some point...)

    1. Winter storm is here: freezing rain, sleet turning to snow, temps headed for single digits. Emergency stores are full. We are ready.

    2. The hasp mechanism on my gig box has a Salticid nursery web in it. We will have a mob of spiderlings, come spring.

    3. Changed the strings on my Goya guitar. It sounds good.

    1) Seeing God's hand through the entire process of my wife being offered a new job.
    2) Standing next to her as person after person--for three hours--came to bid her farewell and tell her what a difference she had made to their life, faith, or practice over the past two decades.
    3) Eating pizza with my teenage daughter while enjoying "Murder By Death" and "Lilies of the Field"

    1) Making breakfast for my wife and daughter
    2) Spending most of the day on the couch with my wife, in our pajamas, cat-napping and binge-watching "Father Brown."
    3) A book on beekeeping arrived today

1 - Finally finished cleaning and garden tidying or garden in our old house - now officially homeless until we can find somewhere at my next posting.

2 - Dinner tonight at the Oelmuehle at Landstuhl - my favourite restaurant at my current locale.

3 - Because we finished (1) a day earlier than expected, we get a lie in tomorrow before driving back to the UK on Sunday, and then on to the USA next week!

    3. Learned a new tune on the mandolin. Don't know the title; the Scots next door play it on their war pipes.
