I needed a "pen name"...French language seemed appropos....

I chose my pen name because it says what I am.

Mine is my name in Hebrew, spelled backwards (from what it would be in Hebrew). I think. I don't speak Hebrew and I'm not Jewish, but I was fairly sure that the name wouldn't be taken, and I think my name comes from the Hebrew. I guess it's really גַבְרִיאֵל which is more like Gavriel.

Sometimes I consider changing it but it seems to mostly work, I know it means me.

Not really, but I can think of a few influences;
An acronym - 'Still I Rise'
An antithesis to the typical comment made by NCOs in the British Army - 'Don't call me Sir, I work for a living'
Or perhaps, because I am 'good in bed' (I can sleep for days ;p), I am also a good knight...
