Default Drawing hands with a fountain pen

Here's a nice tutorial on drawing hands. I suspect the artist could use whatever medium he fancies, but here he's using a Waterman fountain pen (I don't know which one).

It's always nice to see an expert at work. Such fleeting strokes that somehow add up to become a hand.

The videos published by Stan Prokopenko are always very good, I like them.

But know we want to see also your hand sketch using a FP.

    Thank you for the video.

The artist's use of the fountain pen is graceful and skillful. Amazing how complex drawing a hand could be.

This. Is. Sooo. Cooooool. Thanks for posting!

I am impressed by the delicacy of stroke on oatmeal paper! Hands. Ack. I once spent an entire summer drawing nothing but hands and I was still hopeless. It's not the pen, it's the penman.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

I tried to draw a hand when I reviewed the Kaweco Sketch pencil, but I remember I found it really hard to do.

    Interesting video though. Thank you.

Hey, show us your hand sketches, because the posted video above is a tutorial.

It take only a couple of minutes and a FP.
This is fun, it does not matter how good you are, just do it

    I did it right before.
Took a photo from my hand with my mobile and started scribbling.

I took several tries at it. I never seem to get the fingers right... But I guess the idea is to get some practice.

The drawing is made with Pilot Metropolitan and Diamine Sargasso Sea on no-name copy paper.

What highlighter pen are you using, Ptero? The highlights liven up the sketch a lot...

Íve used a Cretacolor White Chalk #1 because it is quite soft, but also each (relatively soft) colored pencil would do the trick.

But in order to see it on the plain paper it is important not to use bright white paper, here I've used grey paper (Mondi Rainbow Grey 160g/m2).
It could be even darker than that, this would make the highlights more pop.

    Oh wow Christof, that's great.

I have a drawing of a hand somewhere. I'll see if I can get it online.

I managed to find my one decent drawing of my hand. I did it on FPN before the weekly drawing thread was ruined by over-zealous moderating.

This was done with a Gillott 404 nib and Blots Iron Gall ink, so not a technically fountain pen.

Thanks Milkboat, this reminds me that I also created a hand for that thread and that topic.

Not done with a FP but still a hand sketch ...
