I read this just fifteen minutes or so ago, and was so struck by it that I wanted to preserve it. It's a footnote in Boswell's Life of Johnson, in which I've now gotten as far page 1300. Forgot to show the pen, which is a Pilot Elite with De Atramentis Purple Document Ink.

Found a beautiful Moore 94A Art Deco pen in a junkshop. It had a broken tine on the nib and couldn't be used. So I'm trying various nibs from my repair box.

Here's a squirrelly flex unit that gets away from me. Quotes from Lewis Carroll.

Done with a newly restored Sheaffer OS Balance, early 1930s, Marine Green, left oblique nib. Ink is Diamine Sherwood Forest

P'raps by coincidence, the "darkling plain" quote appeared in a film I just watched: The Burnt Orange Heresy, with Claes Bang, Elisabeth Debicki, Donald Sutherland, and Mick Jagger. An artsy noir thriller.
