    Default Help identifying a Platinum

    Hi there!
I just saw this Platinum for sale but I can't recognize the model.
    Can anyone help?
    The price is really tempting...

    Thanks in advance!

I actually posted 2 pictures, but I have no idea why they're not working for you.
    Let me try rehosting them.

Platinum has responded to my email:
    Dear Mr. Guilherme,

    Thank you for the e-mail.
The fountain pen is PTB-2000. It was sold 20 years ago.
It is not counterfeit. You can enjoy the fountain pen.
Also, the cartridge ink was sold 20 years ago.
Please do not use the ink because of its quality assurance.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

I Google search for "Platinum PTB-2000" came up empty. Anyone has info on that model?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi, based on my quick lunch time search in Japanese, I would guess it is a PTB-2000D...
    Try searching for "プラチナ PTB-2000D”
    there aren't many pictures though

    Looks a lot like it!
    Thanks!
Sadly, I can't find anything about it, but I bought it anyway, it was just 14 US Dollars so I don't have much to lose.

I don't think you'll do badly with a Platinum pen. I recently got one of the old ribbed #3776s and it is a lovely pen that writes like a dream 👍

It is obvious this pen was made on a budget, but it is a nice writer.
It was scratchy and dry out of the box, but after a good cleaning and some tinkering with the nib, it is quite pleasant. Makes me want a 3776 Soft fine even more.
