Default Parker INSIGNIA Fountain Pen 1997 - 1998

    Hello,

Does anyone here have a Parker INSIGNIA Fountain Pen

    1994 - 1998 Custom or Laque

Any photography of the actual pen you own would be greatly appreciated
( And, of course, any comments )

    Many thanks for your time.

nb - Do I have one?

    No

    Want a Laque one though.

It is very hard to find an NOS one.

    Most were made in USA.

I have several, including NOS pens.

    Hello pajaro,

That was very kind of you - your reply.

Great looking pen, unfortunately distance between you and me will always be an issue - Customs import taxes in the UK and delivery costs.

Was after a NOS laque boxed version.

Will just continue my quest and attempt to find what I want in the UK.

Was hoping to pay about £50 - 60 delivered. ( Most will laugh at this price but I believe it is possible )

I had not realized before that these pens were lacque. I thought they were plastic. The sections and nibs are interchangeable with Sonnet. The ones I have used have Sonnet two tone nibs in them.

I have two NOS in the clamshell plastic box that latches with cardboard sleeves that are a bit worn, just as I received them years ago, one blue and one black, medium nibs and a spare fine nib. I think we could do business at your expected delivered price. If interested pm me.

    Hello again,

I am working in the dark here.

Just have net photography to work off.

Are the shells all plastic? ( As opposed to a laque finish on metal )
You have the advantage over me you can actually look at the pens you have.

Have asked other collectors I know - they all laughed and said they are cheap Sonnets.

Frankly I do not care what they think.

Are you 100% sure that the nibs are interchangeable with Sonnets ( into the black nib section )
Read alot about them not be able to fit unless you change the whole nib section to a Sonnet one.

A photograph of what I have looked at.

Want the green one. ( Greedy I know )

A great many thanks for your time

I have a black and green fountain pen in the swirl pattern, but the green is more a blue green. That one I bought years ago and had no box.

I was just about to go on eBay to sell my 1998 Green lacquer Parker Insignia fountain pen, but I'd rather sell it to someone I know cards about it. Please let me know if you are interested.

I have screwed Sonnet nibs into Insignia sections and vice versa.

I bought an Insignia and swapped in a Sonnet section. That way, I can use a Sonnet nib -- they are good -- without the occasional hard-start from the Sonnet-dry-out problem.

I have put Sonnet nibs into the Insignia section, and I have put Insignia nibs into Sonnet sections. I don't see the problems you people report. The nibs have different stamping, of course. The Insignia section does not have the gold ring that's on the Sonnet section. They worked for me, each section swapped into the other type of pen.
