    Cool Favourite alternative to tea?

In general or more specifically, what is your favourite alcoholic drink, if you have one?

I have always been very partial to good brandy, particularly anything from the house of Remy Martin, and more specifically their 'Coeur de Cognac'; but I also like a decent and reasonably priced 100% Agave Tequila/Mezcal, my go-to often being Cuervo's 'Tradicional'.

I have yet to find a single malt I don't like. But I will keep searching.

    Oh, whisky you're the devil
    You're leading me astray
    Over hills and mountains
    And to Amerikay
    You're sweetness from the Bleachner
    And spunkier than tea
Oh whisky you're my darling drunk or sober

A nice quarter liter of Riesling will do, or, even better (but almost unobtainium here in the American midwest) a not too dry Gutedel.
The somewhat more intense stuff: Williams Christ Pear Brandy, an upscale Kentucky Whisky, or a fruit brandy from my home town (usually a pear/apple/plum mash distilled together).
Medicinal: my own homemade digestive bitter, or Angelica root liqueur.

If memory serves me right does the white lady contain egg whites?
Wine rack had an impressive looking rhubarb and ginger gin the other day, tempted.

According to the recipe I was given at the Savoy Hotel it's 50ml gin, 25ml Cointreau, 25ml Lemon juice plus 1 egg white. You have to shake it for longer than many other cocktails to get the egg white very foamy. Difford's Guide recommends that you shake it once with ice then strain off the ice and shake it again.

I tried to get one in the US but they didn't shake it for long enough.

Single malt, preferably an Islay like Lagavulin.

Alternatively a bottle of McWilliams Cool Climate Shiraz 2013 or La Linda Riesling 2016 from the Clare.

Or anything from McLaren Vale (except the stuff that's exported to the U.K).

currently I have take a hiatus from enjoying alcohol and have gone back to loose leaf tea. But if I were to drink, I think I have half a case of the 07 stratus cabernet franc to enjoy.

I make mead at home which can be very pleasant depending the skill of the maker.

though it's been a while since I've had one, a wet gin martini (2 parts gin, 1 part vermouth, retain vermouth) never fails.

Most alcohol tastes like medicine to me (yechhh!). I have experimented with frozen drinks, but they are too sweet and after a few sips, they make me feel nauseous. I can't explain it. So tea is my preferred drink.

Nice ink collection. We should get some pens and set up a private testing station.

Water. My favourite alternative to tea (and I only drink longjing green tea and pu'er tea). Used to like a glass of single malt back in the day, but I don't drink any alcohol now (and haven't for several years).

I like variety and have too many bottles at home, though all of them are whisky, whiskey, or bourbon. For whisky I really enjoy the Balvenie 21yr Portwood. For whiskey I like Jameson Rarest Vintage, though it's rather expensive and on the cheap a bottle of Black Barrel will do. On the bourbon side I was given a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20yr Family Reserve and it's absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately it's rare and I can't afford to buy another bottle. So while I stare at that one, afraid to pour out the last glass, I sip on Jefferson's Ocean. Those are all consumed neat. A local distillery in Detroit makes a pretty damn tasty rye whiskey which I keep around for mixing an Old Fashioned or a Julep.

Pu'er should keep you youthful and drive away melancholy thoughts...
