I'm not a whisky drinker but I like my gins. Specifically Sipsmiths. I'm currently into drinking their chilli and lime with Fevertree Low calorie Regular or Mediterranean tonic but for a Negroni I only ever use Tanqueray No. 10 and Cocchi Vermouth di Torino

If Lagavulin is in any way particularly peaty then probably not...

i prefer the creamy, brandy-like Scotch whiskeys - Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, Jura, Dalwhinnie to name a few.

Best whiskey i ever tasted was a 63.5% Aberlour - mindblowing depth and range of flavour, truly delicious!!

I haven't seen any mention of having a nice hot cup of cocoa on a cold night in front of the fireplace as an alternative to a cuppa.

Personally, I'd rather that than sipping a whisky.

I prefer Islay scotch (the peaty kind), but sometimes a Highland hits the spot. I am currently working on a bottle of Dalwhinnie. I keep a bottle of each. The Islay just goes faster.

Lately I've settled on Sumatra Kopi coffee beans, regular or decaf depending on the time of day.

My alternative to tea is espresso coffee. I roast the beans myself and grind to brew in a semi-auto machine, normally making macchiato or cappuccino for myself, depending on time of day, and a cappuccino for my wife. We are continually amazed by the serving sizes of coffee-flavoured milk other people have.

Regarding whisky, I drank Laphroaig for a while but now have on hand Glenfarclas and Balvenie Doublewood. If offered, any single malt will be acceptable. I may try Cognacs again, not having been near them for years where long ago I preferred them, and some gin (Hendrick's & Bombay Sapphire) will be consumed come Summer (now entering here).

So many tea options are available. I was introduced to loose leaf Wagh Bakri and Lapsang Souchong. I even found three vintage Britsh pots including a Brown Betty.

I enjoy grinding my coffee bean and using heavy wipping cream.

Daily drink for the road is iced tea of some green and hibiscas variety.

Lately, I've been drinking pale ales and there are many varieties.
