Manu Propria Pens - Mokume Gane

The lacquer called "mokume-gane-nuri", a lacquer that imitates mokume gane.
Mokume-gane (木目金 Mokumegane) is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns. Mokume gane translates closely to "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal", describing the way the metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain.
The lacquer is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer saturated with different metal powders like copper, brass, iron and tin.

Wow! This now rivals the cherry bark pen and the 'bumblebee' among my favourites. It's what all those brass-with-patina and fire-stained metal pens want to be when they grow up! It reminds me of when it's rained and you can see the iridescence of oil spread very thinly across the puddles - though as a biker I should say I have mixed feelings about that effect, as it's pretty dangerous if you try to brake too quickly...

I must not digress. TLDR - it's a fantastic pen.
