I got this German piston-filler that resembles a Pelikan 100 (a bit larger in size) and it was a stylo-pen. No brand name that I recognize, only an inscription on the cap that says BOHM-Speciale positioned like the inscription on a vintage Montblanc.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), the section of the stylo-pen was cracked. So I did the soak, heat, unscrew and took the broken section out. Then I dived into my collection of sections and prayed that I have a threaded fountain pen section that will thread into this barrel. So surprised when I found one!
I spent the next hour fitting a couple of nibs and feeds and settled on a Sheaffer Lifetime that writes like a Platinum UEF
On the other end, I took the piston out and adjust it so it'll stop at the end of the new section, fortunately, it has the silicon rubber seal, not cork, so with a bit of lubrication, it works wonderfully and it sucks water and ink.
I put some silicon grease on the thread and now the pen writes, but scratchy, so I aligned the tines and smooth the nib.
So now I have a piston filler with a nice Sheaffer Lifetime XXF nib that looks like a Pelikan 100. And best of all, I love writing with it.
