Default Blue M605 vs. M405 question

I won this auction listing earlier today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pelikan-Souv...p2047675.l2557

The listing described the pen as an M605. The bird logo on the cap shows 2 chicks. I've found some reference indicating that the 405 has 2 chicks and the 605 as only one chick. Can anyone confirm that? I'll still go through with the purchase regardless as I think it's still not a bad price for an M400 series Souveran.

    Thanks!

As far as I know the number of chicks has nothing to do with the type of the pen. At some point in time, although I don't know when exactly, Pelikan changed from 2 chicks to one. Even my brand new brown-tortoise M800 has only one chick.
On the other hand, I'm not aware the M400 was ever released in solid blue. So I think you're going to get a M605. Enjoy!

Well, this is what I found about the M405 and number chicks in the cap logo: http://printhardcopy.blogspot.com/20...m605-m805.html. Not definitive, but interesting. I'll post back when I receive the pen. The important bits are that it's a Pelikan and it's a Souveran ;-)

Whatever you got, you got it for an M200 price. Nice!

Got the pen today. Yes Virginia it is an M605. It does not appear to have ever been inked. That's something I plan to remedy shortly. Thanks all for your comments!

I love my blue M605 - one of those that went on sale in Galeria Kaufhof (mine was a gift from an uncle based in Frankfurt). Congratulations on your new pen! Enjoy
