Default Lamy Safari & Al-star Colours

    Hello Guys,

My first post in the forum!
I wonder if there is an official inventory of all Safary and Al-star colours produced to date. I've been researching with Google and found some fairly complete lists and great collection photographs, but in all cases some particular colours are missing...

    Cheers,
    Martin

I would recommend looking at Brandonh's collection for a very complete set of Safari or Al-Stars pens.

Anyone heard anything about a new "re-issue" pink safari due out later this year- advertised on Goulet Pens website...

I like the new LE black and raspberry al-stars.

Bought a silver green LE al-star but never inked it as I couldn't match any ink color to it

My Al Star is the original "aluminum" color- basically silver.

Great idea I've had a hankering for that ink.
How do you find it ? I've heard it can feather a bit with some nib & paper combinations.

I use F or EF on it and it doesn't feather on rhodia/clairfontaine/banditapple but sometimes does on copy paper. I don't mind though, the feathering looks neat imo
On decent paper it only feathers if I write too slow. As long as I write in my normal speed it looks fine. On some papers the blue comes out more and it almost looks aqua/marine, but on other it stays neatly mixed and it has a more muted turquoise look. I don't use it a lot (not daily) but I do use it frequently and like the weirdness of the colour.

Have you tried it out? I can send you a sample if you want (I have a bottle, bought on a whim a while back :P)

Not yet I remember seeing it on JustDaveyB's blog and thinking it was quirky and interesting. I've been meaning to check local shops for it.
It is a long way to send a sample so don't worry if there is an increase in postage for your normal letter.
