Any Eclipse brand fans? I'm talking about the vintage brand Eclipse of course.

I just recently got this particular model that I have no idea what's called if it did have a name. All I know is that it has one of the most ornate cap design I've ever seen.

If you have Eclipse pens, let's see yours and tell us something about it.

Oh yea....have a few, but to late to take picture and post tonight- will post tomorrow. Great pens, however they are all over the place like Gold Bond, Gold Medal, etc.

I was told that some were made from Parker, etc. leftovers and were made unique aside from the major manufacturers creating their own niche.

Most are LF's, but there are some BF's, etc.

That's part of what's interesting about this pen. The lever box is similar but not a Waterman one. And the lever has the wreath symbol.

I picked up this diminutive desk set at a show a few years ago but I don't know anything about it. The dealer had another of the same in lapis which I should have bought as well, but the Jade matches the décor in my office quite well.

The pen screws into the horn. While one would expect a desk pen to be longer, this has a jade button in the end which seems to match the base so I think it is likely original. The "Eclipse" name is in a small rounded area at the base of the lever.

I love that desk set. A mini one!

I wonder if it came with a cap originally, so it can be used as an ordinary pen as well.

Desk sets are rarely convertible and I don't think Eclipses were. I have one of these with a taper and the taper is in matching green. I think they are all of Canadian manufacture.

In 2014 GoPens had a cardinal one in its catalogue. The bands are gold filled trimed. They sold the cardinal for $250. There was no model name.

Yes, in the regular way. Remove the section and the sac slides out from the filler mechanism. What's great about this pen is the access to the pressure bar! It's a simple but high quality mechanism, and it's a shame we don't see more of these.

Intriguing material that looks like woodgrain pattern, but in brown.

Ebonite it is not. Celluloid indeed.

And those brown "woodgrain" actually has some *sparkle* to it, when you look close enough.

5-3/8 inches long capped. Absolutely gorgeous trims with Waterman-like boxed lever.

And by the way, the flex is real... and sublime.

That is quite an interesting history about this pen.
Until I read your Pen history there I did not realised as if I am having a good historical pen in my collection.
So I am really glad to learn it and thank you Fred, for your great share,
So I just did a quick pen Photo to share mine. This pen has the original NY Eclipse makes in the nib. In the body has chase marks a bit worn out in time.
The clip has an engraving "SAFETY" and the body end has a thread to fit the cap screw in safely.
So I guess it is aa Eclipse Safety Cap pen. Soft, Mi-flex and a lovely writer.
I am attaching my photo here.

An imaginary "Eclipse" radio with art-deco styling ...

With very light pressure you can produce some fine lines with this delicious nib.
