Fountain pen friendly note cards?

I have been searching high and low for some that are good to use with fountain pens. I like to use them for research work.

It is very hard to find any that are FP friendly. I participated in a thread where someone sent out samples to try. None of the cards really worked and the closest one that did okay was on par with the Mead cards I got at Walgreen's.

Well that stinks, I did an unthinkable thing today...I ordered a retro 51 tornado stealth rollerball fountain pens don't work everywhere.

Don't listen to Darth Fountain Pen. I'm fairly obsessed with index cards. I have used a lot of them. I have had success with Oxford brand index cards. I primarily use the canary yellow ones I purchase at office depot. I also use the white ones and the fluorescent ones.

The colored cards seem to work the best. There is slight feathering on the white cards, although it is not significant. There is little to no bleed through. I can recommend these cards.

I cannot recommend Levenger index cards. Not FP friendly at all. Major feathering.

Rollerball?!? Blasphemy!

Although I do use gel pens. My favorite is a Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 0.38 Blue/Black. I get them from Jet Pens. Very fine point.

No need to apologize, that's the thing about the forum, pooling experiences to get information like this is good. The Oxford cards I tried did not work great. Do you have a order number?

I have actually had good luck with most index cards. I did have one crazy cheap brand that reminded me of stone paper. Weird stuff that even a pencil didn't work on. And then there was one pack of rough cheap things that feathered like crazy. But other than that most run of the mill cards acquired at Staples, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, etc. have worked pretty well. I am the index card queen and always have been. I am much too cheap to buy index cards at Levenger, so I have no experience with those.

Caveat - my pen of choice is a fine nibbed Japanese something or other - usually a Pilot but sometimes a Sailor.

No need to apologize, that's the thing about the forum, pooling experiences to get information like this is good. The Oxford cards I tried did not work great. Do you have a order number?

The Oxford item number is 33513. Office Depot item number is 331421. This is for the canary yellow 3 X 5 cards. I have a whole stack of the bloody things!

I found both listed on Amazon. Also a separate web site for Roaring Spring http://www.rspaperproducts.com/products/index-cards but not for Top.
