I am Confused

I have a vintage MB fountain pen and the cap band says No. 34. From what I see in pictures of other No34s, they do not have a hooded nib like mine and the cap looks like a No34. Is this a complete No. 34 with a different nib design or do I have parts from two different pens.

More a curiosity than anything else...it writes beautifully...especially with the Grey 90 Years anniversary Ink.

You seem to have a 34 cap on a 22 barrel. I've never tried that, but if the threads and dimensions fit, so be it.

Oh and yes it seems to fit together nice and tight with no movement or rethreading

Pieces parts pen likely. That was not really all that unusual. Long long ago in a land far far away when Montblanc 3X pens were the economy student line of pens their value was in keeping them working and not spending much money. When anything happened the pen was taken back to the place where it was bought where an experienced pen repair person on staff would look in his parts box, select what would work and hand a working pen back to the kid in time for the next class.

Goodness, the devil is in the details. I am looking at pages 52-54 of Collectible Stars by Jens Rösler and Stefan Wallrafen. Based on the lack of a band adjacent to the ink window, you may have a model O32.

Strike that request sir, It would appear from the images that I can find that the barrel on the 32 is exactly the same as mine. So I guess if I average out the 32 barrel and 34 cap - I have a No....33 hehe
