I'm fortunate in that there is a local cigar place that had a big stack of boxes, and they sell them for $1.00 a piece, with the proceeds going to a local veteran's organization. I think that is called win-win.

I've asked in one of the few tobacco-oriented stores left in the city (maybe even in New Zealand) and they didn't have boxes anywhere near as handsome as the ones shown here. The ones they did have were plastered with Govt. health stickers which are a pain to get off without damaging the box.

On the other hand, a friend of ours who thought well enough of us to mark our recent wedding gave us a gift that came in this box.

In the last image the pen in the box is a Pilot Custom 823, shown for scale. Now that I've done that I am wondering if i could use this box to store my oblique dip pens - my collection of these of these is larger than my FP collection. Musing.

    Beautiful box EoC!

I found this in a Michael's store. It is a wood soda crate. Turned it into a wood INK crate........

Never got around to doing anything but put pens in or now pen cases in the ceder lined Burl veneer one. The big humidor is Walnut. (Both were flea market finds) I'd planned to go three layers deep on the walnut one, but never got around to ordering the felted rills.

Cigarboxes a source of superb graphics (I'll resist the temptation to prattle on about why). A lovely combination with old pens.
Just in case anyone's interested, take a peek at the cigarbox guitars I knock up:

There is a cigar store in South Pasadena, CA that usually has boxes for sale that are only a few bucks. I may have to check one out. Any current vendors sell the pen inserts?

A friend for whom I've repaired and restored pens over the years gave me this cigar box, covered in rice paper decorated by the sumi-nagashi (floating ink) method. it certainly is beautiful.

I haven't made a liner to hold pens yet: one of a thousand good intentions.

I have a desk drawer with old paper cigar boxes for holding various pen related things (also a tin). Nothing fancy. Just allows me to cram a lot into a small space:MVIMG_20211024_080944.jpgMVIMG_20211024_081108.jpgMVIMG_20211024_081136.jpg

Just in case you're not aware of it. Gopens.com sell ready to cut pen holder liners, in several colors.

If that works, now you just have to worry about the 999.

    (998. Just replaced an ungrounded outdoor outlet box with a GFCI grounded one. Bought the parts 2-3 years ago. I hate wiring!)

Thanks for the cue on the box liners.

IMG_5148.JPGHere's a couple of my first attempts.... before I discovered the 'Go Pens' moulded sheets.
I used ( rolls eyes at naïveté). Zincalume 'Mini orb' metal sheet, and covered it with adhesive felt, then drilled the relevant holes and threaded hat elastic through for loops !

These are great! I have a few around the house that are smaller and deeper. I used to use the old Phillies paper boxes to store my things when I was a boy.

Gopens.com does not answer anymore. Probably due to the owner passed away. Anybody knows another site for those pen tray liners?
