Hmmm. These are, for the most part OMAS celluloids. I must say I would prefer to see these in the ASC Bologna Extra format, and I wonder why they were used for the Wahl-Eversharp pens.

They are, absolutely, Omas celluloid; W-E bought the remaining stock, simple as.
One of my favourite pens, in some of my favourite materials .

As of a couple of months ago Dromgoole's had sold a full set to an individual and was awaiting shipment of another set to be broken up and sold individually at a cost of about $1,100. per pen. The celluloid is quite striking, and I like the size of these pens. The one off-putting thing for me is the the design of the top of the caps, with "The Magnificent Seven 1918 -1928" and the serial number in bold white, which is garish to my eye (check the video posted by SIR at about the 2:58 minute mark to see what I'm trying to describe).

IMHO it would have been much classier to have this information tastefully embossed on the side of the cap or on the barrel.

Oh well - - I guess there ain't no accounting for taste is such matters.

I spent some time with these pens at the SF Show. To see them arrayed, side-by-side in person is a remarkable thing. Syd has done some greatness here, even though they are still too damn big for me.

A good set to dream about... though of course I couldn't afford even one.
