More of the collection refining has gone on and I am ready to clear out these pens from my collection. Some rare and beautiful examples here. More pictures are available on request and if you are interested in all of them, please get in touch via PM.
From left to right:
1. Visconti Van Gogh maxi in vanilla white resin. This is the older style Fountain Pen with tri cam lock cap, old style clip arch and adjustable clip spring. Mint condition, does not appear to have ever been inked and it sports a 14k medium nib. Includes the period correct older style deluxe metal converter. Display box included SOLD
2. Visconti Van Gogh maxi in absolutely stunning blue resin. This is the older style Fountain Pen with tri cam lock cap, old style clip arch and adjustable clip spring. Mint condition, does not appear to have ever been inked and it sports a 14k medium nib. Includes the period correct older style deluxe metal converter and display box. SOLD
3. The big one - yes that is indeed a Tibaldi Impero in that gorgeous grey and blue celluloid material. A rare pen this is not a reproduction or stipula version. It is the non numbered version, and has silver trim and medium gold nib (if you know enough about this pen you will know why). Nice and wet nib and smooth piston action. It has the odd microscratch to the barrel and some marks on clip, which is also skewed slightly but not by much. A very nice example SOLD USD (express post included on this one)
4. Visconti Van Gogh maxi in absolutely stunning brown tortoise pattern. This is the older style maxi with screw cap and adjustable clip spring. Mint condition, does not appear to have ever been inked, stickered and it sports a 14k finenib. Includes the period correct older style deluxe metal converter. $275 USD
5. OMAS Bologna black and gold celluloid. In excellent condition with smooth working piston and a medium nib. This is the commemorative edition nib and it is has an absolutely drop dead gorgeous design. A real shame to see this one go. SOLD
6. Aurora Optima 360 Monviso limited edition of 360. The pen has had 3 full fills of ink in total since I purchased it new from an authorised dealer, but has otherwise sat in my collection unused. It is in near mint to mint condition, no marks or wear to speak of, perhaps only a microscratch/handling mark under a loupe. It features some spectacular aurolide material (the reflections in sunlight are beautiful), a piston filler and gorgeous red ebonite feed. The pen also sports a sharp and very engaging factory STUB nib that produces huge line variation. It writes more as a sharp italic style that takes some practice, rather than a cursive style stub. Once you get the hang of it it is a real pleasure to writes with and brings out the shading of inks nicely. Comes with the heavy large box and papers it came with. SOLD
7. Visconti 8 pen tray you see pictured here with leather surface. Very good condition and no tears. Just one bump to a corner. Measures 350mm x 250mm $80
