Default Pilot Custom 742 - Any Colour as long as it's Black or Red?

My quest to spend a $100 Amazon gift card led me to discover Pilot's release of the Custom Heritage 91 in some of the Iroshizuku colours, such as Tsukiyo, Yama Budo, and Yama Guri. Beautiful!

An of course, we know that Pilot has issued its Custom 74 in a variety of colours, such as black, burgundy, blue and green (and others - let's not talk about demonstrators here).

However, I am already the proud owner of a Custom Heritage 912 so to satisfy my obsessive compulsive personality, I need to find a Custom 742 for contrast.

My question is whether Pilot has ever issued the Custom 742 in any colour other than black and burgundy. Anyone ever seen such a beast?

I have not. The 742 is a great pen, even in black

My 742 with Sutab nib is a favorite and I don't mind it is black. It matches my outfit. It's the one in the middle. The 74 on the right has a Music nib and the Namiki Impressions on the left has a fine nib.

Many thanks for your replies. I had suspected as much but wondered if there had been some shop exclusive with a different colour.

I used to have a 742 in black with a sutab nib, but for some reason it never clicked with me and I gave it away.

Maybe I should try a posting nib...

I have that nib on a Custom 912 (not Heritage, is there a difference?). I love it as it makes my crappy handwriting look downright handsome. It was my first "expensive" pen. I bought it without understanding that there were nibs beyond f, m, b.

But I thought the SU on the nib meant "stub". Now I'm totally confused!

Sutab is Japanese for Stub. Physically the 912 I believe has a larger sized nib. Not the width of the stub but like a #5 vs a #6 nib. Just giving an example, not the actual sizes.
