    Default Interesting meeting

As some of you may recall, the health centre in which I worked burned down in July. We had a meeting to review the fire investigation today and the social dynamics were interesting. There were some very senior people there with national status in their bits of the NHS. All the men were in suits, ties and cufflinks ( of which I approve, because I hate sloppy dressing in a business setting. Tony Blair's suits-without-ties look was something I really disliked) and there were more fountain pens than I have seen in a meeting in years- at least 5. Almost all MBs- I spotted a Le Grand, two Starwalkers and a 144 but was too far away to identify the others.

The less senior men were in shirtsleeves, one without a tie and using ballpoints.

I can only picture the settings in my mind
I'm sorry for your workplace being burned down, though. That must have affected a lot of people.

Another thought: Hopefully with the popularity of fountain pens with the younger generation, soon you'll see those men in shirtsleeves writing with LAMY Safaris or TWSBI's.

I imagine there are quite a few mont blanc pens in weybridge. Did it turn out to be a gas explosion like they thought?

Apologies for the awful English in my last post, it's been a long week.

Did the fountain pen users appear comfortable writing with them, or were they writing like they were ballpoints? In other words, were they genuine or were they posing?

    Cool Re: Interesting meeting

I spied the CEO of my local NHS general hospital using an MB 146 during at least one board meeting - she didn't wear a suit, nor did she post her cap.

There are a fair few but usually they're for display...

This was the draft report and we're not allowed to say until the final version is completed and put into the public domain, which it will be once the Police and the Fire Service had had their chance to review it.

All using them as if they did so every day. The chap with the Le Grand was posting but to be fair he had enormous hands.
