I have a Classic with an EF and it it very Dry and need to tune a little. I have not done anything yet.
I've had similar experiences as have been described by others, but the one gold Kaweco nib I bought is fantastic.

Mine have been a crap shoot. The plastic bodies with medium nibs have been the worst. The aluminum and brass bodies with fine nibs were the best.

If you're looking for instructions on how to adjust nibs, I think there's a few videos on Youtube. Alternatively, the pen could be sent to me to be adjusted or bought from me and have it inspected/adjusted at the time of purchase. Depending on which pen it is, that service may be included at no additional charge.

I only have two Perkeo Fs and they have written flawlessly from the start, but they are completely different in thickness and moisture. There is an interesting detail that I have not seen commented on here and that is that at least the black nibs have some flexibility.
Here you can see a sample.
