EDC to me means it has to fit in my jean pocket all the time no matter what I am doing. So I have 3 FC 45's. Ghost w/ Black cap, Amber and a Confetti with fine, med and broad M CI Nibs. It depends on my mood as to which one I put in my pocket that day.

For quickly accessible EDC writing tools

    - Pilot Frixion blue black. Somewhat the colour looks like Iro Shin-kai.
    - Faber Castell Perfect Pencil
    - A free pen I got from a meetup. Used it because I need finer nib for writing in the small grids of my weekly planner.
The person giving it away say they're dirt cheap. There's Sailor F-4 on the nib, but no idea at all what model that is.

Then there's the case with the other pens staying in my bag.

If it counts that I carry from room to room, I have a Gama flat top demonstrator eyedroppered with Organics Studio Blue Crab strapped to my Hippo Noto.

I carry a Kaweco copper Liliput in my pocket everyday. I may go weeks without actually using it. It never has a hard start, never leaks, never gets messy in any way. I am honestly amazed at its reliability. It also happens to be beautifully smooth (F nib) when I do use it. I find it perfectly fits my needs for EDC.

I work at home. So most typically I take my daily writer with me. Often in a monogrammed leather pen pouch from an Etsy seller, MenAccessoryStudio in Ukraine.

However, I am now using a Pilot Kakuno with my new bullet journal and it is cheap, small, and sturdy so I can toss it in my pocket.

Clearly color coordination isn't a priority at present...

I also like carrying a Lamy Safari clipped to my right front jeans pocket next to my EDC knife*. Seems like they would stand up well to EDC.

I would hesitate to carry the MB 221. Too delicate.

Almost all the time I wear t-shirts so most vintage clips do nothing for me.

I have a vintage Pilot Elite inbound so I will have to try that.

And there's always the Wahl Ringtop. I could put it on a chain on the other end of a similar vintage pocket watch for giggles. But I haven't.

    * EDC knife is one of: Factor Equipment Hardened Knife, Benchmade Griptillian, Benchmade Ruckus, or Kershaw Emerson CQC, depending on mood.

    Here's my EDC menagerie.

I keep several pens on my desk and in pen cases in my briefcase should I need something specialized, but these are the two that I always have on me.

I always have my Sailor King of Pen Pro Gear in my breast pocket. If I'm wearing a shirt without a breast pocket then in goes in the button placket.

As a backup, I keep a Kaweco Brass Sport in my pants pocket. The Kaweco is inked with something that will write on pretty much any paper. Currently that's Noodler's X-Feather, though I'm trying out alternatives.

At work, I'm currently using a Burgundy Sailor Pro Gear Realo with a fine nib. When I'm out, I carry a Montblanc 146 Platinum with the Fritz Schimpf Italic Bespoke nib and a Montblanc Le Grand Solitaire Blue Hour with an OM nib.

And 9 days later...my new updated EDC...just found myself retiring my Cold Steel knife and picked up a new SAK...with a cool twist. Just love the Swiss way of thinking. The twist...my Caran d’Ache Nespresso pen has a Swiss Army Knife that is also Nespresso! The Nespresso twins.

Apparently I have been hauling around two pen cases everyday for two weeks.............. . __.

Van der Spek Cases: The brown case caries Pelikan M805 (Medium Stub with Sailor Rikyu-Cha), TWSBI 580 (F, Emerald of Chivor), Pilot 912 (SM, 1960s Montblanc Permanent Black), Sailor 1911 L (F, Diamine Ancient Copper).

The black case is my normal EDC with Lamy 2000s (fountain pen with a fine nib and Sailor Miruai, a rollerball with a .75 Pilot G2 refill and a mechanical pencil .5 lead).

I carry around most of my collection: currently

Ranga 4cs with a fine semi flex waterman #4 (noodlers el lawerance)
Parker 51 ebonite body with a 0.7 mm minuskin stub (MB poppy red)
Lotus ebonite bamboo with fine bock Ti nib (GVFC moss green)
Opus 88 with a medium stock nib (Visconti blue)

Kara’s kustom retrakt with copper grip section. I lend this to people when they ask for a pen

Looking for a broader nib to add to the edc. I have a pilot parallel with a custom ground 1mm tip coming to try in the opus but I was also thinking about a Goulet broad in the opus, Ti broad in the lotus or a regalia sequel if I can get my hands on one. Maybe even a new pen...

So... these essentially comprise my Users (the Pilot Kakuno and Platinum Preppy belong to another category, more like "General Pens" cos cheap (there's a thread at fpn about defining cheap pens) (I suppose the Moonman Wancai Mini will be assigned to "General Pens") (I know it's a wonky system, but it works for me).

The Main Trinity are Kurouac (Nakaya Piccolo Cigar [NPC] kuro) (F), Pilot CH 912 (PO), and Pilot Falcon (SEF).

But I most often "always" carry the Main Trinity +1. The +1 is usually NPC heki (F).

I tried to travel with only the Main Trinity +1, knowing that I'd be picking up the Pilot CH 92 Smoky Gray (F) and Moonman Mini at my destination. But I need the Danitrio Komori as a kind of talisman (cos fear of fiery plane crash death) (acknowledging contradiction of self-identifying as a rational person and carrying a talisman, yup, I know). And then I saw in one of my older notebooks sentences written with the CI nib with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo, so had to ink up the black NPC, and that joined the fly team.

So...here's the roster, Moonman Wancai Mini (bottom), and L-R: Pilot CH 92, Black NPC, Heki NPC, D. Komori, Kurouac, Pilot CH 912, Pilot Falcon, Pilot Kakuno, Platinum Preppy.

By the end of next week, the users will down to Kurouac, Pilots CH912, CH92, Falcon, and Heki (five). Probably.

    Maybe.

    ...

    The suspense!

Whatever I'm restoring, or testing after restoration.

This last few days, a gorgeous Parker Emerald Oversize Vacumatic and a cool grey Sheaffer Dolphin 800 (the one with the gold nib).
