    Default Nib Styles

I have noticed Waterman has different shape vent holes on their vintage pens. The vent holes are: round, keyhole and heart shape. Also a diamond or upside down nib shaped vent hole. Is there a correlation betewwn pen and nib or year and nib. Is there any rhyme or reason. I realize through the years nibs have been swapped out.

I know there are answers to this. In the meantime, for diversion, one good place to read more is Richard Binder's site, and here is a link to some of Waterman's color coding. Not what you are looking for, but a good resource.

Thanks. Nibs.com is a good start; it gives me a decade range.
