I considered writing a script that would constantly monitor the active content section of FPN and automatically post the exact date and time of the first new post in this thread. That would not be very sporting however, so here's my uneducated guess:

But wouldn't that only tell you the time of the first post? The contest would've ended by then, because entries to this thread after would be invalid.

Ah yes, now I've noticed the additional rule in the small print.

I suppose that posting here, immediately after relevant content is detected on FPN, would have to do then. Subsequently, in order to end the competition asap, the script could also create a new thread on FPN, just in case the FPN members are a bit slow off the mark. Perhaps a thread called "What's This Staples Sugarcane Stuff Everyone Is Talking About".
