Default Wahl-Eversharp Remove Section From Barrel - The Aluminum Issue

For a long time, I've been setting aside my three Wahl-Eversharp No. 2 personal points because the sections are really stuck in the barrels, all hard rubber. I assume there are aluminum mating surfaces inside preventing me from getting them apart. (See photo of my larger W-E Signature, below). I've done what I can with heat and extraction effort, and I'm loathe to twist or rock the section.

Q: Is there a recommended method for separating section from barrel with these pens?
Q: Is there a way to tell if my green celluloid Equi-Poised pen has the same aluminum? (My Tunis celluloid Equi-Poised is aluminum-free.)

TIA (I double-posted this, in "the other place," too.)

    Fred

    Been there, done that.

Test tube and WD-40 or other penetrating oil.
It may take a week or more of soaking, depending on how much bonding there is.
