Do you have a goal pen in 2018?

Like Captain Ahab and his white whale, do you have a pen that has been elusively avoiding you due to whatever reasons?
Any hope of getting it in 2018?

For me, it's a Lamy 27. It's not an exorbitantly expensive pen, and I knew a Lamy collector who could find one for me, but I guess the thrill of the hunt is winning me over. I am determined to find it myself and not pay too much for it.

Excluding the Namiki Emperor Goldfish and the Montblanc Heritage 1914 Coral, which are totally out of reach, I'm trying to be patient to see what Pelikan is going to come out with this year. All that being said, I know I should be looking for fine vintage pens instead.

Looking back to 2017, I had no goal. Result, a lot of wants and too many gots. I don’t regret it a bit but it was quite expensive.
This year I think I need a goal. Thank you, penwash. It might save me some money and I might be able to put some money into the bank.

I've heard enough good things about a the Pilot Custom 823 to be intrigued but it's not yet a goal. Yet another Edison, but this time with a premium filling system, calls to me but not yet a goal. An urushi Sailor KOP as long as I am daydreaming, but then my real goal would be to as rich as Croesus so that a $2000 pen would be on the level of deciding which wine to buy at the gas station.

I think of a goal pen is a way for me to focus on a pen, which makes it somewhat easier (not always successful) to say "no" to other pens that came up as "distractions".
