NEW ink brand - Colorverse

Quite surprised to still have enthusiasm for a new ink brand.
After all, all of us, fans of pens and inks, have been spoiled as far as quality choices are concerned. There are many indeed.

I couldn't resist and went ahead with my first order from Hiponoto, and now the waiting starts....

Just a pity that the first season inks are not available from Hawai.
Einstein Ring is still a desire to be fulfilled on another order down the line.

My guess would be money. It's cheaper to buy one size / shape bottle. There are fewer possible "oops" moments when changing over a bottling line to go from Sailor to Bung Box to Kingdom Note to (insert boutique brand here). You can't forget to switch out the bottles. You also don't have to change over anything on the line to handle a different bottle shape.

There are still some shop exclusive inks made by Sailor that are currently sold in the vase shape bottles, but the bottles are expensive & probably not economically viable for most “standard” ink lines.
Colorverse are Korean so will likely use a local manufacturer, and I think their bottles aren’t quite as complex to make.

The first season should be available to order from Hawaii at a future date. That batch wasn't in the initial purchase due to it being a much larger set over seasons 2 & 3.

The bottles are a nice shape too, without the top heavy stance of other smaller bottles. I can see me doing a swap with others to try different colors.

Just ordered 3 more inks from Colorverse, through Vanness, in the USA.
Distribution is improving and if they live up to their recently acquired fame, other brands must take notice.
The ink aficionado is maturing and is no longer hostage to Sailor's and Pilot's price hikes, nor to Diamine's + Noodler's + PR below average quality!

Quality choice in the form of KWZ, Colorverse, GvFC, Monteverde, Robert Oster, Blackstone is very welcome.

Colorverse inks are starting to hit the resellers: Pen Chalet, HippoNoto & Vanness in the US, and Bureau Direct in the U.K. all have stocks (although selling fast). Definitely not inexpensive inks - but the 5 I’ve tried have been fabulous.

I am still going through the testing phases of the first three and I am liking them very much.
Quasar is unique and luscious;
Einstein Ring has great shading and beautiful hues;
Supernova is not my type of blue, I like my blues a little darker, but comparing it to the similar ones from other manufacturers, it is as good as or better then the others.

Smaller bottles - do a group buy and swap smaller bottles amongst yourselves.

Surface tension - lower the surface tension, wetter the ink would be. If you want a dry ink, get a colour with low surface tension value.

Seems strange to criticise the UK price of Colorverse inks but not other premium brand inks that are equally expensive e.g. Pilot Iroshizuku, and some that, in fact, cost more per ml (list price) e.g Montblanc Editions inks (Colorverse at £45 for 80ml compared to Montblanc at £30 per 50ml). Having tried most brands I’m happy to pay for the Colorverse inks. YMMV.

I don't buy Pilot Iroshizuku inks at UK list prices, if I want them I buy them on Amazon. Nor do I pay £30 for 50ml bottles of Montblanc inks because if I decide I want them, I get them when there is a discount on them. Nor will I ever pay £45 or even £40 for any Korean inks. If people are prepared to pay that then good luck to them. I'm not.

All the members of this board can perfectly live without FP's and inks, they aren't necessary for sustainence.
This hobby in itself is an indulgence. So might as well go all the way if you like the colours instead of trying to justify each and every expenditure.
