Hi everyone,
My name is Jorge and I live in Toronto. It is funny how many Canadians have signed up in the last few days.

I am a long time lurker and I have enjoyed learning about fountain pens, I am looking forward to learning some more. I have a small collection of pens which I hope to improve... not so much grow in size, but in quality and appeal. I also collect watches (which takes most of my collecting funds), I belong to a couple of large forums, but I usually hang out at Canwatchco.ca, which is a cozy Canadian watch collector community.

I know! I realised that by owning several low value watches (or dumb ones) I was keeping myself out of nicer ones since the cash was locked in. I think it is similar with pens. There are lots of (great) cheap ones, but if you have too many of them you will not be able to get that Visconti

I think that my handwriting is atrocious, but when using a fountain pen I feel that I write better. At the very least, the experience is significantly more enjoyable!

1.) Welcome
2.) I understand the sentiments on both pens and watches. I too have a few cheap watches and keep thinking about selling it all for one nice watch.
3.) Don't worry about your handwriting. Most of the forum is about the instrument and the fluid and not how well you use them.
4.) It's hard not to buy things in the For Sale forum. Used pens at reasonable prices requires decent self control to avoid collecting a dozen $50-100 pens when you really just wanted to save up for the one $500 pen (like watch collecting).
