Default A visual representation of currently used inks

In common with many who like to have multiple pens inked at any one time, I keep a Pen and Ink Log. I keep a note of the usual info such as date, pen, nib, ink, a writing sample etc etc. My partner does likewise.

But for fun, I decided to depict the inks being used in our pens in a different way.

Here are the inks we're using today. One set of inks is my partner's, the other is mine. An interesting comparison

    Likewise.

And now I need that Monteverde Copper Noir.

Thank you Migo. Very original as presentation.

For info, the top set of inks are in my current pens and the bottom set are in my partner’s. He has a lot of broader stub and italic nibs, whereas I prefer finer nibs. I generally can’t write with his broader stub/italic nibs, hence why my writing looks so bad when labelling some of the bottom set of inks.

Since I did this two days ago he has cleaned out the Monteverde Napa Burgundy because it wasn’t playing well in his fine nib Sailor pen. It is a dry ink and it didn’t flow and made the nib feel ‘scratchy’. He replaced it with KWZ Baltic Memories and it’s now writing beautifully. It never ceases to amaze me the difference if you correctly match pen to a suitable ink.

I also forgot to mention that the doodles are on ivory 52gsm Tomoegawa.

It is gorgeous. Very saturated and with sheen galore. A beautiful deep dark purple- sapphire colour. I’ll be posting a review of it soon.

It was fun to do, and I’m definitely going to add it to each week’s Currently Inked log.

I love it too. About 2 years ago I was lucky to find 2 extra bargain-priced vase bottles of this ink for sale locally so grabbed them. I’m trying to make them last but of course I let Murfie use it ........

Glad you like the presentation. I like how it shows off contrasting colours and helps make comparisons. Not useful to show behaviours but that wasn’t what I was trying to achieve.

Copper Noir is a very nice. It’s one of the more lubricating and saturated Monteverde inks. I’ve got it in a TWSBI Eco-T with a medium nib (writes on the finer side) and I’m really enjoying it. I’m probably going to get one or two others from the MV Noir range.
