Penbbs: what is the background.

I need to correct myself. I own 2 Hero 616s. I forgot about them in the shuffle of all the new Chinese pens released in the last year.

Still have one in rotation, bought it more than 10 years ago! Still going strong.

Waiting on a 616... oh yeah 51 that is it I want to see if it writes ok. If it does I may buy the 14k 100 though am dubious as to whether the nib is indeed 14k. My 99 pence Jinhao x750 has 14k on its (admittedly decent) steel nib! I am tempted to pull the trigger on a penbbs too.

As to Chinese knock offs I was put off by the truly appalling counterfeit Swiss Army Knives I had as a kid. When I got my first genuine Victorinox it was a revelation. I think they have improved somewhat though. ai am a wet shaver and I have heard the Chinese knock offs of the Merkur Futur are very decent.

I just rec'd a Wing Sung 601 this week... a P51 Vacumatic clone. XF steel nib is a nail but smooth. An actual vacumatic filler for less than $15 all in.

I'm watching one of the eBay penbbs "Long Tail" pens since I like desk pens. Waiting to hear from the seller as to what color the pen actually is...

After my sub par experience with the Jinhao 992, we'll see...
