    Smile Arco Verde Rod

    Hi everyone,

I realize that my chances of success are very slim, but without trying, these chances are null.

I am looking to purchase a rod of arco verde (or brown) for a custom pen that currently only exists in my dreams.

Thank you for contacting me if you have any lead or one for sale.

May your search be more fruitful than mine. And if your search is really successful and you come across multiple rods please kindly let me know.

Since Omas closed up, I've seen their celluloid appear elsewhere. I suggest you contact Syd Saperstein of new Wahl-Eversharp. He seems to have procured the stuff, if not just like it. And then there's the ASC pen company. There has to be others.

This celluloid once meant Omas! Now, it's lost its allure being diluted through the marketplace.

Mora had some too, though not a lot, I think. I assume most of it has gone into making Oldwins.

Shawn Newton has made a pen with an Arco Verde rod. Maybe he can help you?

That is what I initially thought, but apparently this material was not proprietary to OMAS, and used by many pen companies back in the days.

I tried Andre Mora with no success. I really appreciate how everybody is helping and suggesting leads. Thank you immensely to all of you. The quest continues ..

Ask Brian Gray of Edison Pen Co. Maybe he knows.

Can you give a rough estimate of what you think you would pay for one (20cm rod)?

I contacted Brian. He is such a nice person, writing back very elaborately. Bottom line is that he doesn't have any rod and suggested keeping my eyes out for an ebay listing.
