This is going to be wholly unhelpful, but you did say "money is no issue"...

    Montblanc Rita Hayworth.
This is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing pen for me. Definitely one that I think I will forever be able to picture in my head and one that is the ultimate Grail Pen for me.

    On a more useful note...
I would do a custom Nakaya Decapod Twist Kuro-Tamenuri with Maki-e Cherry Blossom Silver Powder.
I'm somewhat afraid to ask them how much it would cost!!!

Granted. How about one of the rare finishes of the Waterman 94?

Nice... And to be fair if money really was "no object" I'd be looking at cars

Oh that's really pretty. They do have a cat roll stop... maybe they can do some magic and turn it into a clip?

For me, a couple of pens that I really would like someday are a Pelikan M405 Stressemann or a M400 Brown Tortoise. Although that Turquoise-white M600 is appealing too. Simple tastes. The M805 Ocean Swirl - I love the pattern, hate the size. How about an Ocean Swirl in M400 or M600 size?

If money were no issue and any pen a target, I would have to go back to a basic as I always seem to keep resale value in mind.

I would suggest a prime Montblanc Hemingway fountain pen with all the boxes and papers to be in the top three of my list.

After that would be a Montblanc Agatha Christie in Vermeil with all its accoutrements. And this is just for simplicity. The Hemingway and Agatha are stars in their own rights and keep their resale values.

After that would be a Nakaya Urushi or a Maki-e fountain pen. You will need to dig to determine which would fill the list. Read, read, and read some more. And then land on a pen that satisfies your personal qualifications.

I love them all and I think that most of us are limited by funds....! There are fountain pens out there that are far more expensive, but when you research the Japanese Urushi and Maki-e pens deeply you can start to understand why these pens are exquisite works of art and not just writing instruments.

    Good luck!

Cool Re: Any pen, money is no issue...

If you're suggesting the MB Hemingway, I will suggest the Pelikan M800 Burnt Orange...
I have nothing to say in answer to your Agatha Christie suggestion, except buy it at a good price when you can!

I would probably get the visconti van Gogh set, not so much to use, although I do miss the pollard willows , I just think it is a very cool set.

Thank you all for the thoughts and suggestions.
It has been a very entertaining and informative thread... at least for me

So, I obviously do have a limit and all purchases MUST be approved by the boss (wife).
I have seen so many names I expected and others I did not!
I am glad I started this thread, it has brought to light some interesting pens that I would normally not have even thought of.

My birthday is in July, so there is still plenty of time for more suggestions.
I have an idea of what I would go for. Unfortunately "my grail pen" is completely unavailable and you just cannot get it... ever...
But now I have others to fill my dreams with

Well this is a rather interesting thread actually. However, in case money would be no issue, i guess i would firstly think about some other material things. Something like a great house and some cars. However taking to our subject, i guess a really classy option would be the Montblanc POA Copernicus. Also the Fulgor Nocturnus, Tibaldi, i am just in love with that, and it actually costs 8 million! I know it is already something related to incredible. I guess even if i would take all the side hustles possible, and don't spend anything, i mean only food and water, i would still not be able to get that amount of money.
