Default ID help? Misled (I think) by a bead cap band

I'm new to fpgeeks and to looking seriously and curiously at my pens. So please bear with me!

Can someone help identify this pen? (Links to photos below.) it was presented to me as a Craftsman, I imagine because it's about the same size and has a bead band on the cap. But...it has an 875 price imprint. As you can see, it doesn't have a 3 or 33 nib--or a Feather Touch or a Lifetime, for that matter. It's a vacuum-filler, about 5" long capped, made in USA.

Is this an $8.75 pen that got a new nib and a substitute cap somewhere along the line?

    Thanks for any help!

    Welcome to FPG.

It looks like a Sheaffer Craftsman pen that might have a Sheaffer Balance nib fitted. The Sheaffer Balance comes in many versions about which I know very little. I'm sure someone will come along who knows exactly what this is.

Appears to be the cap from a non-Lifetime bead-band model (Admiral, Craftsman) on the body of a latter-half-1947+ Sovereign.

P.S. None of the parts are from a Balance-line model; they're all from later models.
