Has anyone ever used Parker's Superchrome? I know the warnings, know that Parker withdrew it about 1956, and remember Richard Binder's comment: "If you try it in a gold-nibbed dip-pen, your pen will lead an exciting, but short, life".

A Parker advertisement says that Superchrome is three-to-ten times more saturated that ordinary inks, that it dries quickly and lasts forever. And it has Solv-X. Parker warns "do not use Superchrpme in anything but a Parker 51".

OK. I have about two dozen P-51s, and Superchrome/Parker 51 Ink was sold from about 1945 until 1956. It must have worked at least a little...certainly did not burn up a diaphragm or aerometric filling system, or nib and feed, etc.

I didn't see a description of how the ink actually looked. Years ago, I received a couple of bottles with a P-51 Special, but threw the ink away. Has anyone tried it?
