    Default Pens injuring eyes

I stumbled upon this article while browsing other academic stuff https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3259098/

Apparently children throwing pens around that caused severe injury to eyes have happened quite frequently in medical literature. Hope this does not happen to anybody onwards, but it was an interesting read.

I don't know about children, but anyone who bent the nib on one of my pens would find themselves stabbed in the eye!

I was that kid. In around 1964 I was so jealous of my sister's Parker 51 that I used it as a dart. I have been doing penance ever since.

Apparently that's the selling point of Iridium Nibs (see video 0:45)

I also enjoy how it states below that the minimum age for fountain pens is 14.

    Aha!

When I was scrounging EBay for P-51's, I kept finding pens that seemed to have been used as darts! But could they all have been your work??

I only did it to the one, honest. I have been trying to rectify myself ever since and I have since then acquired 2 vacs from ebay, one aerometric from a car boot sale, and a beautiful pristine cedar blue as birthday present to my daughter from the sales board at FPN.
