    Default new from LA

New here but Ive been over at the Network for a long time. I had to find a forum cause it got to whenever I got on the Network site my computer froze, no problems here or any other site. Nice to have a place to come for understanding. People look so weird at my pen when I bring it out like whats that. Ive been using FP for about 40 years. I remember that the stationary store I worked at when I started using them had a drawer of the old lever type. I didnt know anything about FP then so I dont know what brands. All I knew is they all needed bladders and I had no idea how to do that. I started with a cartridge Sheaffer, went to a lever Sheaffer and have come back to cartridge cause Im not a geek. I like to write so I just pop in a cart and Im set to go again. I do have a couple of custom pens and a couple factory pen I dont even remember the names of. I live East of Los Angeles in the Riverside area.

Welcome. If you have not yet, take a trip to The Fountain Pen Shop in Monrovia (T -F 9-4, S 10-3). Good idea to call first because they are not always in. Fred Krinke is 90 years old now, and could have forgotten more than anyone knows, except that he hasn't forgotten anything. There is also a Southern California Pen Collectors Club. Feel free to ask for more info about that. Their next meeting in in Monrovia on March 31.
