Default Yachting Style Golden Years pen

So, I got something a bit new and different.
It is a glass nibbed pen from the Taiwanese manufacturer Yaching Style. This pen is called the Golden Years pen and is very, very pretty.

    Information from the company:
    1)Hand-shaped Glass-nib at 700 ℃
    2) the section is made of aerospace aluminium alloy anodized with chemical imported from Germany for various color!
    3) cap and barrel: 24k gold leaf suspended in acrylic

It is a beautiful pen and the nib feels very nice too write with. It feels like writing with a soft grade pencil, which is odd considering it is hard glass.

It is a cartridge/converter pen that has been wonderful since it was inked up. It lays down a Japanese M or western F line and is consistent as you can be. I saw the pen but couldn't read their site, so I contacted them through Facebook. They were incredibly patient with all my questions and indecision and the sale was organised through the Facebook communication. They were excellent throughout the whole process. The pen was packed incredibly well and shipped amazingly quickly too me.

So far, I have only good things to say. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Something something...you don't like metal sections...something something

It looks really cool. My brain is struggling with the glass bit as nib and feed. A normal nib over a feed pretty well stops the ink from flowing until you apply a little pressure, create the gap between nib and feed, and use capillary action of dragging across the page to pull ink out. With this being nib and feed all in one it seems there is an incredibly fine line in designing the fit into the section to allow ink out and air in while retaining enough surface tension between ink, feed, and section wall to avoid everything just dumping out.

That's not quite right, you don't need any pressure and you don't need to separate the nib from the feed at all.
The ink channel in the feed, and the gap between the tines are so small that ink can't run out (unless it's badly made!). The capillary action is made during the contact of the nib to the paper which draws the ink through the ink channel and tines.

The ink channel works the same way with this nib... witchcraft! No sorry, the spiral groves are in a tight, soft material that forms around the nib and creates the same small ink channel. I haven't pulled the nib yet, I haven't been brave enough to play and investigate that much yet... I'm not even sure if it can be pulled!

Sammyo - Again, very nice pictures. What camera/lens setup did you use for the last round of pics?

I sat crossed legged in front of a large window for ambient light. I set my Galaxy S8 to macro and used the flash to highlight the area of interest. I then zoomed and cropped to the area I wanted...
Sorry it's not some wonderful, complex set up with lenses and settings... But at the same time in happy to tell you that it is possible without some wonderful, complex set up with lenses and settings
