This was a big day... Jinhao 599 in plastic, flushed it, writing perfectly well.
Three vintage pens all of which had issues disclosed by the seller but seemed to have potential -
a Wearever in an interesting black with mop look chips, button filler, needs some work where the button is,
something with an Eversharp nib - not sure how much tipping is left, it looks to be an italic. This came with a Wearever cap which definitely does not match the barrel, the barrel is very interesting and I'll have to look around and see what it might be
A pen with no name on it and the clip and jewel missing from the top, but a gold nib. The nib has a crac at the base extending up towards the breather hole, but not there yet. Not quite sure what to do about that.
Those last three didn't cost much either, and I knew the issues going in so even though they sound like a traffic accident - or three traffic accidents - I am happy with them.
Noodler's nib creaper pen, re-fitted with a broad nib to use as a highlighter with Noodler's Lightning Blue.
Wanted: Clever signature
Apply in person....
Lamy Joy with a 1.1 italic nib.
The Joy looks just like a desk pen, the overall length is the same as my Parker 51 desk pen.
It just does not have a base. I need to find or make a base for it.
The Joy is a really nice pen to use.
The grip is comfortable. I apparently have a somewhat standard tripod grip.
The 1.1 nib writes cursive very nicely. It gives me line variation without the cost and effort of a flex pen.
And if I decide that I want a standard nib, I can swap out the 1.1 nib for a XF or F nib.
Now I'm going through the grueling exercise of trying different inks to see what ink looks best out of that 1.1 nib.

I just purchased a Monteverde Regatta Sport and a Noodler's Konrad in Forbidden City. Two really great pens!
After a lot of pondering and review reading, I purchased a Falcon EF resin body, which my wife immediately claimed. Determined to have a Falcon I ordered another. I thought I was getting an identical pen, though I should have noticed the $100.00 price difference. In any case, I now own this Falcon EF with a metal body - and I love it.

Parker 45 Burgundy red - could arrive as early as May 12.

"None of us can have as many virtues as the fountain-pen, or half its cussedness; but we can try." - Mark Twain
Me too, and I wasn't aware of it until I got the pen.
I'd forced myself to turn it down. But, I couldn't stop thinking about it and decided to break down. But, horrors, Goulet Pens was out. Fortunately, I found one for sale at Fountain Pen Hospital.
Let me just say that the pen is as attractive as I'd hoped, possibly even more so. I really love it!

Added the Neon Coral Lamy Safari to my collection! There it is, right on the bottom. I almost have a gradient going on with all of the colours.

A Parker 45 arrived last week. I'm enjoying its durability and I have a Platinum 3776 M on its way.

Sailor Promenade (MF) the picture doesn't do it justice and the cap look Über amazing! Sailor should make this clip design standard
Is that burgundy? And the ink is....?
Looks great in the pic! I have the MF nib in a ProGear.
My other pen is a Montblanc.
And my other blog is a tumblr!
